This urgent message is going out to all of our amazing panthers at Abingdon Elementary School. We have a special opportunity crafted to keep school spirits high! We will be celebrating a healthy mindset on January 28, 2019. Students who did not meet the celebration criteria will be provided a booster session to review school expectations. Having students grow into brilliant learners and good citizens are important to all of us at Abingdon Elementary School. Have a Pawsome day!

Due to the division closings for inclement weather, the following changes have been made to the division calendar:


December 19 - Full School Day

 December 20 - Full School Day

January 23 - Full School Day

January 24 - Full School Day

January 25 - Full School Day

January 28 - Early Dismissal (1:30)

January 29 - Early Dismissal (1:30)

January 30  - Professional Day (No School for Students)

January 31 - 1st Day of Quarter 3

New VPI Preschool Class

Gloucester County schools is expanding one of its preschool programs to Abingdon next year! This program, known as the Virginia Preschool Initiative, or VPI, currently is offered at Achilles, Bethel, and Petsworth elementary schools. VPI is a state-funded, need-based preschool program for a limited number of eligible, resident 4-year-old children. To qualify, applicants must meet one or more state and/or local eligibility requirements.
